When my sons and I moved to this area, I'd been relying on the school system's dentistry program to maintain their dental health. It turned out they'd missed quite a bit. When my son started complaining of tooth pain, I was able to get him in at Pediatric Dentistry within the week. The location is in Rockford, and parking is easy. The staff is small — I mainly interacted with Patty and the dentist, along with a few others — and everyone was incredibly kind. My son was young and in a lot of pain, and it turned out he needed extensive work, including surgery. Because the surgery had to be done at an affiliated surgical center rather than on-site, the cost of that piece was significant, and I couldn't move forward with it right away. But the visit itself was excellent. The dentist was wonderful with my son, and very informative — he walked me through everything clearly. He also made clear that if cost was a barrier, they'd work with me on pricing and a payment plan to make sure my son got the care he needed. We scheduled a follow-up, but on the day of that appointment, I lost my insurance and had to pivot to a different provider for the surgery. Here's the part that really impresse

Dr. Dachman is so patient and so kind! We visited for multiple areas of decay for my 5 year old son. The first visit went fantastic, the second we got it done, and the third visit ended in us leaving with no work being done. My son was very uncooperative but the whole time Dr. Dachman was very forward with expectations, explained options to me, and maintained a positive attitude toward my son. We scheduled our 4th visit very hesitant that my son would cooperate. I did not go back with him, and he did great! Dr. Dachman personally took the time to let me know exactly how the appointment went and what the best options moving forward are. They made it as fun as possible and truly let my son be apart of making the appointment great! I appreciate the patience and understanding from Dr. Dachman and his team in what could and was a frustrating couple visits. Dr. Dachman takes pride in having happy families and excellent work. Rockford is lucky to have providers like Dr. Dachman that care so deeply for our kids!

I was absolutely amazed at how well they did with my multi-diagnosis special needs son. They explained everything to him took their time. Reassured him many times and kept telling him how amazing he was doing. This was his first time ever at the dentist and I was blown away by them. The price for cleaning and X-rays and the first exam was very reasonable as well! I am absolutely floored at how well they did! My boy was very happy as well after it, he even got a coin to choose a prize from one of their machines! I highly recommend them!

Oh gosh. Where do I start?! 1. If you are looking for a dentist office for ANY child, look no further! 2. If you are looking for a dentist office for a Special Needs child, look no further! 3. If you are looking for a dentist office who will help navigate the rough waters of worry/fear as a parent when you have a child who has anxiety, or sensory issues, or cries, or is scared about the dentist, or screams bloody murder in situations like this…LOOK NO FURTHER! We began looking for a dentist specializing in care of kids with special needs in early May of 2025. I was referred Dr. Dachman’s office by a good friend of mine and called with low hopes, as I knew what my son was bringing to the table was a lot to handle. My son has Intellectual Disability, a speech disorder and severe fear/anxiety when it comes to anything like haircuts, doctors, dentists, etc. He sweats, clings, cries, begs to leave, screams bloody murder and has to be held down to get anything done in regards to mentioned appointments above. To add, my guy is a big kid for an 8 y/o. Solid and strong, so it takes lots of hands. Upon calling Dr. Dachman’s office, I met/spoke with one of the kindest souls you’ll ever enco

I would highly recommend Pediatric Dentistry of Northern IL! Dr. Dachman and his staff were professional, kind, and incredibly kid-friendly. A dental visit can be scary for a little one, but everyone there went above and beyond to make both my daughter and me feel comfortable and relaxed. They truly know how to create a positive experience for children. We’re so grateful for the care and compassion they showed!
